SPCHS Hosts “Starry Night” Homecoming Dance

St. Petersburg Collegiate High School’s fall dance is coming up on Oct. 21 in the SS building from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Student Government Association (SGA) has put lots of time and effort into making the dance enjoyable for students at SPCHS. The theme for the dance is the iconic painting by Vincent Van Gogh, “Starry Night.”

Sophomore SGA Vice President Briana Melucci said that she doesn’t “want to disclose too much because we (the SGA) want it to be a surprise.” She did, however, disclose that there will be food and refreshments from Chick-Fil-A, as well as a DJ and a photo booth.

Students are excited for the dance. “I can’t wait to see everyone and have fun outside of an academic setting,” sophomore Hanna Gade said. Melucci agreed, saying, “It will be a lot of fun to interact with my fellow classmates outside of our studies.” Junior Malayna Tillis said, “I didn’t go last year, and I think it’s cool how all the different people from different grades are gonna be in one place to hang out.”

Tickets to the dance are on sale now. Members of the PTSA can purchase them for $10, while non-members can get them for $20 from Ms. Dessipe in the front office.
