Alumnus Selected as First Team All-American in Beach Volleyball
Class of 2020 graduate, Raelyn White (St. Petersburg/Gibbs campus) was recently named to the American Volleyball Coaching Association Junior Beach Volleyball All-American Team. Raelyn White enrolled at Florida State University this fall. She was one of 8 players named to this selective team. She played her club volleyball for Bevolley Academy. Parents, Scott and Jacci White, thanked the Collegiate High School staff and experience as it gave her the flexibility to travel around the country to participate in many nationally ranked tournaments. We are very proud of Raelyn and know that she will continue to excel in her volleyball and academics.

2020-2021 School Year Begins
The 2020-2021 school year officially started on August 17th at our St. Petersburg/Gibbs and Tarpon Springs (North Pinellas) locations. Due to the ongoing pandemic, both campuses were able to implement new technology and resources to allow for families to choose remote learning or a return to face to face learning. With the support of St. Petersburg College, teachers and staff have implemented innovative and creative ways to help welcome our new sophomores and continue to the strong level of education our students receive. The Collegiate High School staff working closely with the St. Petersburg College leadership has implemented new protocols focused on sanitizing and social distancing to ensure our students and staff have a safe environment to learn.

Please continue to follow CDC prevention guidelines as we work together to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We send our thanks to everyone who has assisted with the college’s Comeback Plan for fall, as well as all faculty and staff for their flexibility during this evolving situation.

Important Information Regarding Covid-19
St. Petersburg College and St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools continue to closely monitor the rapidly changing situation regarding the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak in the United States and in Florida.
As such, St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools and St. Petersburg College are using due diligence to encourage “social distancing.” Current students were sent a Frequently Asked Questions document with additional information for current SPCHS students and parents.

Classes online in MyCourses
As you should be aware, your classes are online and loaded into MyCourses. If you are a student who was taking a face-to-face, on campus class and you have concerns or are struggling with the online platform, please reach out to your instructor. They are there to support you!
Please remember that these face-to-face faculty members faced a major task to convert in-person assignments to online and they have worked diligently to give you the best learning experience possible. I ask that you continue to be patient with them as we work out any snags.

Senior Raelyn White Earns Beach Volleyball Scholarship
Congratulations to SPCHS Senior Raelyn White (St. Petersburg/Gibbs campus) for signing with Florida State University to play beach volleyball.
Some of her highlights include:
-Currently ranked #1 in USAV 18U Florida for the last year and currently #4 in the nation (hit #1 at different points during the year). Was #1 in both 16U and 18U last year in Florida.
-First in American Beach Tour 16U in 2017 (the only year of the tour)
-1st in High School beach championship “Beach and Boards Fest” 2019 representing SPCHS
-1st in Eastern Sands Power League (ESPL) 18U 2019 Winter Finals in Gulf Shores, AL
PSAT Scores Released December 9th
Florida is scheduled to receive PSAT scores on December 9, 2019. When your PSAT/NMSQT scores are ready online, you'll get an email with instructions on creating your College Board account, going to your online score report, and using your access code to view your scores.
Next Steps for Students after receiving their PSAT online score results
- Create a College Board account at studentscores.collegeboard.org to view the full PSAT/NMSQT® score report. (See instructions below).
- Create a Khan Academy® account at satpractice.org and link College Board and Khan Academy accounts for free, personalized practice for the SAT®.
- Start planning for college and career using tools like BigFuture™ and Roadtrip Nation, available via the online PSAT/NMSQT score report.
- Sign up for the SAT.
How Students Link Their College Board and Khan Academy Accounts:
- Go to satpractice.org.
- Create an accounton Khan Academy or sign in to their existing account.
- When prompted, agree to linktheir Khan Academy and College Board accounts.
- Send their scores.

St. Pete Collegiate Student Participates in College Level Model UN Conference
One of the great aspects about St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools is the opportunity for our students to participate in student clubs and organizations at the college level at SPC campuses. One of our students, Carson Gordon, at the St. Petersburg campus, is an active member on the SPC Model UN team. The team traveled to Washington DC to compete in the National Model UN DC Conference from November 7th to 11th. The team captured the Outstanding Delegation award, which is the highest team award at the conference.

St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools Host Fall Dances
One of the fun aspects of St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools is the student life our students experience in addition to their rigorous academics. One of the events students enjoy the most is the Fall Dance. This year's Fall Dances took place on Friday, October 25th at the St. Petersburg/Gibbs campus and Friday, November 1st at the Tarpon Springs campus. The students enjoyed dancing, food donated from local restaurants, and even a photo-booth to capture some memories. Each campuses Student Government representatives along with the faculty sponsors planned, decorated, and organized the event, so students could unwind and have a great time. The students had a wonderful time and enjoyed a night to relax and step away from their academics. Here are some pictures that captured the evening of fun at each campus.

National Honor Society at the St. Petersburg/Gibbs Campus Paints for Hurricane Relief
The National Honor Society chapter at the St. Petersburg/Gibbs campus organized a painting fundraiser to provide Hurricane Relief from the victims of Hurricane Dorian. Here are some of the pictures they took at their event.
National Honor Society Members Serve Our Community
On Saturday, October 26th, members of the National Honor Society at the St. Petersburg/Gibbs campus along with their sponsor, Ms. Smickle, visited Crescent Lake in St. Petersburg to remove invasive species. Students used canoes and waded into the waters to remove invasive sea lettuce and grass. Our students partnered with Keep Pinellas Beautiful as part of their beautification initiatives.
