“A” ranked School of Excellence

fl-depart-edu2St. Petersburg Collegiate High School is an “A” rated Pinellas County “School of Excellence”, focused on students’ academic success in simultaneously earning a high school diploma, an Associate in Arts degree, and a Bright Futures scholarship.  The school has earned an “A” from the state of Florida every year, since the school opened in 2004.

The ranking is provided by the Florida Department of Education who serves as the single repository of education data from school districts, state and community colleges, universities, and independent postsecondary institutions in the State of Florida.

2019 Best High Schools

St. Petersburg Collegiate High School is among the nation’s top-ranked secondary schools.

U.S. News & World Report named St. Petersburg Collegiate High School to its prestigious list of “2019 Best High Schools” and awarded St. Petersburg Collegiate High School a bronze medal.

U.S. News & World Report reviewed over 29,000 public high schools across the United States and of those, only 205 Florida schools made the cut. Schools were awarded medals based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college. Less than 40% of schools reviewed were awarded a graphmedal. Of those schools, 13% received a gold or silver medal and 20% received a bronze medal.  View additional information




State of Florida Department of Education School of Excellence 2019

The Florida Department of Education named St. Petersburg Collegiate High School as one of  its Schools of Excellence for 2019.

The State Board of Education presented the list of Schools of Excellence for designation at their September 20, 2019, meeting. Section 1003.631, Florida Statutes, requires the State Board to designate a school as a School of Excellence if the school’s percentage of possible points earned in its school grade calculation is in the 80th percentile or higher for schools comprised of the same grade groupings (elementary, middle, high and combination) for at least two of the last three school years. This program was created by the 2017 Florida Legislature. Of the 3,324 schools that received a school grade in 2018-19, 775 of those schools have either qualified for or maintained the designation of School of Excellence (422 elementary schools, 132 middle schools, 106 high schools and 115 combination schools).

St. Petersburg Collegiate High School is in the spotlight again, this time earning accolades from Niche K-12 as the #1 ranked “2020 Best Charter High School” in the Tampa Metro area and the #1 ranked “2020 Best Public High School” in the Tampa Metro area.

The Niche ranking provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall experience of a public high school or charter high school.
