
St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools is made up of three different schools all under one umbrella. SPCHS Gibbs, SPCHS North Pinellas, and SPCHS STEM at the Downtown Center. The students attending St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools follow an individualized program designed cooperatively by school personnel and the student with input from parents. Students attending St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools on SPC’s St. Petersburg/Gibbs and Tarpon Springs campuses will simultaneously earn an Associate in Arts degree and a high school diploma. Both campuses serve students in grades 10 through 12. Students attending St. Petersburg Collegiate STEM High School at SPC’s Downtown Center will simultaneously earn an Associate in Science Degree, two Industry Certifications, and a high school diploma leading to high demand and high wage STEM careers. SPCSHS serves students in grades 9 through 12. Staff members at the schools have the responsibility for providing instructional and ancillary support to ensure student success. The student remains responsible for fully utilizing the opportunities provided, and the parents remain responsible for providing a support system outside of the classroom.
Educational paths available: The Pre-Collegiate Program and the Collegiate Program
The Pre-Collegiate Program emphasizes instruction to prepare 9th and 10th grade students for success in college level courses. Our students take traditional high school courses, specially designed courses that support college readiness skills, and college courses aligned to each student’s college major/career pathway.
The Collegiate Program supports 11th and 12th grade students considered fully dual enrolled in college coursework leading to completion of the requirements for an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science degree.
Pre-Collegiate Program
(Grades 9 and 10)
Students take classes Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

- Chemistry (Honors or Regular)
- Biology (Honors or Regular)
- World History Honors
- Economics Honors
- Geometry Honors
- Algebra I or II Honors
- Reading
- English electives
- Study Skills for Academic Success
- College level mathematics and computer information technology courses
Collegiate Program
(Grades 11 and 12)
- Students take college classes with college professors and college students
- Students follow the college schedule and usually attend Monday through Thursday
- Students select courses with the help of a school counselor and school staff.
- Courses are selected based on:
- High school requirements
- A.A. or A.S. requirements
- Bright Futures scholarship requirements
- Student’s college major/ career pathway
- Students participate in the Leadership Program

The teachers and staff at all three St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools understand that learning from data contributes to building an effective school and to helping students continue to improve their performance.
St. Petersburg Collegiate High Schools staff understands the importance of using a wide range of data to differentiate instruction and provide an individualized learning experience for each student. The data analysis empowers staff to address learning gaps and accelerate instruction to meet each student’s needs.
In addition to making decisions for individual students, data review meetings help the staff determine necessary changes for continual improvement of curriculum and school operations resulting in high levels of staff and student success.
